Sunborn Gym

Training in a gym on the 7th floor of a permanently moored super-yacht is not something you get to say every day. Sunborn Gym is inside the Sunborn Yacht Hotel in Ocean Village Marina and the setting alone makes it worth a look.

Membership is capped at 200 people, so it never feels crowded. You will pretty much always have access to the equipment you want without waiting around. They have Life Fitness cardio machines, Insignia resistance equipment, and Escape Fitness functional kit.

What is included in the membership is where Sunborn stands out. Personal training sessions and nutrition consultancy come as standard, not as extras you have to pay more for. If you want someone actually guiding your training and diet rather than figuring it all out yourself, that is a big deal.

The trade-off is obvious though. It is exclusive and priced to match. The free weights selection is not as deep as what you would find at a dedicated gym, and the atmosphere is more boutique hotel than gritty weights room. If you want loud music and chalk on your hands, this is not the one.

But for people who want a quiet, personal, well equipped space where someone is actually keeping track of their progress, Sunborn is genuinely different to everything else in Gibraltar.
